A Door County Wedding That's Perfection in the Midwest

Real Wedding

"Rustic" is often equated with the barn weddings so popular today--especially in Wisconsin. However, the more weddings of this kind that I see, the more the word "rustic" seems to be replaced with that of "elegant." Crystal chandeliers, long trailing tables set up family style, and vintage details dotted here and there lend a delicate feel to the rough wooden setting. Alexandra and Matt's wedding is a perfect blend of rustic and elegance, giving them the northwoods wedding of their dreams, while still feeling like a sophisticated special occasion. Erin Jean Photography's images feel soft and romantic, which I'm sure was the exact mood of the day...

From the photographer:

This Door County wedding was perfection in the Midwest. Throw in lots of local craft beer and a cheese curd bar (only in Wisconsin!), and it was simply fall wedding bliss at it's finest.

The couple wanted to celebrate the Wisconsin northwoods, where Matt was raised and where Alex spent many weekends and summers with her family. They incorporated local beers, a cheese curd station, local wood decor accents, hard apple cider signature drinks, and live music. Most of the guests spent the entire weekend, as Door County is a destination all in its own.

Alex and Matt spent many hours cutting and burning an "H" into their personal chargers at every plate--such a gorgeous DIY project. The groom also built the beer tables and cocktail hour treasures from pallet wood and salvaged windows.
