It's been said that if you don't want to worry about wedding day decor, then the best time to get married is around the holidays. Most venues have already done all the work for you, hanging festive garlands and displaying beautifully decorated Christmas trees. And if you're like Jill and Derrick, who live in the northwoods of Wisconsin, mother nature tends to lend a helping hand by dusting the landscape with glistening white snow.

Jill and Derrick had a fabulous winter wedding! Derrick went out for breakfast with his guys before getting ready at his parent's house. The couple have a beautiful home in the woods where Jill got ready, and where the two shared their first moment there, too. The Original Famous Dave's on Round Lake was close by, so they stopped there with the wedding party to have a drink and take a few pictures on the ice. A group of snowmobilers let them use their sleds for a bridal party pic, too! They then went to their family-owned Johnson Timber Lumber Yard for some cool pictures. It was a mild winter day. and it was beautiful with the frosty trees. The girls all had cozy accessories: Uggs, mittens, and shawls.
Their ceremony and reception was at the Steak House Lodge in Hayward. The decorations were luxurious--just perfect for this December wedding. The bar and banquet rooms were great for accommodating this large group. We loved the appetizers the Steak House provided, and there was a large variety of tasty foods and sweet fancy desserts! The entertainment for the evening was the talented one-man band Jeff Loven! He is just awesome! The guests seems to really enjoy this beautiful destination wedding in the Northwoods.
