Heather Mawhiney and Nick Struntz shared their very first kiss together on a night so snowy the car got stuck. Exactly one year later, Nick proposed in the same spot, but with no snow around; he re-created the moment by throwing fake snow from his pockets as he got down on one knee to pop the question. “Nearly two years later, at our wedding, the moments I loved the most were just like that—totally imperfect but full of goofiness and laughter all the same,” says Heather.
The snowy surprise tradition carried on at the ceremony, where the maid of honor spent the eve of the big day cutting out paper snowflakes for the wedding party to hold up during the couple’s first official kiss as husband and wife. Personal and touching moments such as these were a theme for this couple, sprinkling their intimate, garden-feel wedding with memories they’ll cherish for a lifetime.
