At age 15, Katie Andersen and Brent Easter were part of the same youth group, where the boys hung around, pulling tricks on skateboards. Katie, already showing shades of her future career as an activities director, joined in the wheeled action with the boys. Speed ahead a few years, and she and Brent said their vows to one another on Madeline Island, the scenic getaway just off the north coast of Wisconsin where they had gone on a camping trip together at age 18.
On their wedding morning, the bridal party put a twist on the traditional “guys go golfing” routine. The groomsmen busted out their skateboards while the bridesmaids took to the water for some stand-up paddleboarding before their elegantly eclectic affair. The bride and groom were not the only active ones that day—Katie’s family, friends and “fairy godmothers” assembled bouquets, adding a crowd-sourced feel to a day that perfectly embodied the youthful spirit of the bride and groom.
