Kelsey and Clint: Winter Whites Pair with Dress Blues for a Military Marriage

Real Wedding

Military families make many sacrifices for our country, and so it's our honor to feature the stunning wedding of beautiful bride Kelsey to her handsome Marine husband Clint. While distance and deployment led the two to elope in 2013, their more formal ceremony and reception took place in 2015 at the regal-feeling Milwaukee County Historical Society. The gown's winter white silk organza dress paired perfectly with the groom's dress blues, which all of his groomsmen wore as well. While minimal details were needed at this one-of-a-kind venue, it was the little touches that made the event completely personal. Woodnote Photography captured the couple's special day wonderfully, and we're grateful to share it with you. Thank you to Clint, Kelsey, and all veterans and their families for your service and sacrifice.

From the bride:

My husband and I met during college. After years of long distance and a deployment to Afghanistan, we eloped in November 2013 and followed with a formal ceremony and reception in January 2015. We wanted to plan a wedding representative of the formative elements of our relationship: a snowy winter engagement, breweries, the United States Marine Corps, Ornithology, and family! The majority of the wedding party and guests traveled from far and wide to attend our wedding. Due to this we wanted to kick off the weekend in a Midwestern way with a bird shoot and brewery tour.

Our wedding venue was a former bank where the great beer barons of Milwaukee kept their money in seven separate vaults. The father of the bride officiated. The avid bird watcher groom selected bird inspired cake toppers and centerpieces. The groom and groomsmen wore their dress blues while the my gown was a silk organza beaded fit and flare by Kelly Faetanini.
