Erin and Stephen savored a celebration centered around family.

Chicago transplants Erin and Stephen met on Bumble, and they knew right away they had found something special. The pair was engaged over a homemade dinner, and their wedding day emulated a similar charming comfort and intimate romance. The sports-loving couple chose Destination Geneva National for their venue, envisioning a relaxing city escape for their guests.

The skies opened up after a humid week of rain for a picture-perfect lakeside celebration. Over coffee, Erin and Stephen shared their vows in a private moment before the ceremony, a moment to remember and treasure just for themselves. Sumptuous florals in shades of pastel blue and soft ivory hung over the pergola, and the bride carried a matching bouquet featuring heavenly hellebores, delphinium and campanula. She wore her grandmother’s wedding ring, and the groom also carried family with him by wearing a jacket lined with fabric from his grandmother’s wedding dress.

During the reception, Erin dedicated her beautiful bouquet to her mother, forgoing the traditional toss for a touching family tribute. For another uniquely personal dedication, the couple wrote letters to each guest and to each couple who attended. With all their loved ones collected in one room, the evening ended in style on Erin’s dream black-and-white checkerboard dance floor.
