Love Is in the Air

Real Wedding

The way a wedding looks, sounds, feels, and even tastes are details most engaged couples are sure to play up. But how a wedding smells? That's a sense that often goes forgotten. Not the case with Sarah and Keegan's big day. All the senses were highlighted in this special wedding photographed by Melissa Alderton Photography. The sense of sight: Green Lake at the Heidel House made a beautiful backdrop. The sense of sound: violin and guitar soloists. The sense of taste: elevated main dishes, including duck and walleye. The sense of touch: a perfect outdoor day complemented by the hugs of loving family members. And the sense of smell? Rosemary boutonniares, evergreen tree favors, and herb-accented centerpieces. This wedding was truly a treat for the senses...now if only we could install scratch-and-sniff computer screens! Until then, take in the sights of this couple's delightful day...

From the photographer:

From the very first time I got to talk with Sarah about doing their photos, I knew that their wedding was going to be amazing. She clearly had an idea in her head of what she wanted the wedding to look like, and it was even more amazing than I could have imagined! The Heidel House is such a beautiful place for a wedding to begin with!.They chose to have the lake as their backdrop for the ceremony, and they could not have picked a better day for it; it was absolutely perfect! With a violinist and guitar soloist playing during the ceremony, it only added to the ambiance. Every detail of the day was so clearly thought out. Gold details from the rings, to her hair piece, matching perfectly with the chandeliers in the ballroom. The men wore rosemary with their flowers (which smelled amazing too!), they provided herbs and evergreen trees as favors, and had mixed herbs in the centerpieces. All the details coming together seamlessly! And on top of all the amazing details, they had delicious unique food choices as well, included duck and walleye. And if things could get any better just from the wedding itself, Sarah and Keegan both have the most genuine love for each other and their families. I got to spend some very special moments with them as Keegan read the letter that Sarah had wrote for him, and they cried and laughed together. It was a true pleasure to capture their day for them.
