Northern Haus on 30 acres of field and forest in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, offers pristine, light-filled spaces that brides can make their own. A bounty of blooms and branches from Ebb & Flow Flowers grace the table, outfitted in warm mauve and taupe linens. Crossback chairs nod to the barn doors and exposed beams.
"Autumn can be so much more than maroon and orange. We opted for the luxurious aubergine tones as our main focal color, with notes of muddied mauve, taupe and creams to add richness." — Mallory Wedel, co-founder and creative director of Elevate Events
In the silk crepe “Carla” from Alon Livné’s 2022 Carmen Collection, our bride is swathed in romance. With minimal makeup accented with a rosy lip, she’s the picture of elegant simplicity.
Understated place settings with cut-glass tumblers let the florals take center stage; ranunculus in a rich aubergine pops among the soft shades of Westminster Abbey and Champagne roses and hybrid delphinium. Place cards and the invitation suite by Paper Envy use the same palette to guide guests throughout the special event.
Exposed beams bring in a rustic note, and 35-foot ceilings soar over the festivities.
"We kept a strong focus on textures and used a variety of dried floral, fresh blooms, branches and mosses to match the season." — Mallory Wedel
The generous, unstructured bouquet is a contrast of darks and lights, deepest purples and palest pinks. It features Brownie and plum ranunculus, hellebore, camellia japonica, sweet pea, roses and Scarletta leucothoe foliage.
The Northern Haus team created a custom cocktail featuring Yuu Baal añejo mezcal, Luxardo Amaro Abano, lemon, honey and egg white. The drink is garnished with a lemon wheel and sprig of thyme. You can choose among a wealth of flavors, including passion pineapple, blackberry lemon and the bakery’s award-winning double chocolate caramel truffle. Ebb & Flow Flowers fashioned the cake’s charming floral collar.
