Kendall Ruchti and Andrew Ward’s celebration was a picture-perfect wedding day for a couple united by their love for architecture, art and design. Kendall, an interior designer, was set on visiting Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum in Milwaukee from the moment she learned about it, so Andrew, who also has a passion for architecture, knew their trip to the museum was the ideal time to propose. Two years later, it only made sense to return to the venue for their wedding. The house’s rich history and Italian-Renaissance design flawlessly matched the couple’s shared interests. Kendall and Andrew watched from the second floor of the villa as their guests arrived, feeling immeasurable gratitude for every person who attended the celebration. The ceremony took place in an enchanting, shady garden beneath the terrace in the sweet summer heat, and the couple exchanged vows in the exact same spot in the grassy lawn where Andrew had proposed two years prior. The reception unfolded up on the house’s terrace, where Kendall collaborated with M&F Floral + Décor to create the feeling of a European market with fruit baskets and lush greenery, taking inspiration from “Pride and Prejudice.” Bundles of olive branches complemented the villa’s architecture to create an Italian seaside feeling. Once night fell, the string lights draped over the terrace created a harmonious ambience as guests danced with stunning views of a moonlit Lake Michigan.
Taking inspiration from Pride and Prejudice, Kendall and Andrew's wedding day at Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum united the couple's love for architecture, art and design.
