This July 4th Wedding Red, White and Blew Us Away!
One way to ensure there will always be sparks flying in your marriage is to get married on the Fourth of July weekend, as did Kelsey and Brad. Not only does that mean a fireworks display on the day you say "I do," but a light-up-the-night sky for every anniversary that follows!
The couple played up the red, white, and blue theme in tasteful ways throughout the event. The bride paired her gorgeous slim-fit lace gown with bold red pumps. And the bridesmaids footwear was equally colorful beneath their cobalt blue gowns. The groomsman may have stayed more neutral in light grey tuxedos; however it was all stars and stripes when the guys lifted their pant legs.
The beauty of Door County and the sunny Independence Day weekend shined in the amazing photos by Tammy Lutze or Art of Exposure Photography, who captured all of the details from the event spent joining two together as one on the peninsula.
From the Bride:
The Fourth of July was the perfect day for our Door County wedding! Chicago natives, we met in college at the University of Dayton, and both grew up with family ties in Door County. After getting engaged, Door County was immediately decided on as place where we wanted to tie the knot.
With 240 guests following us to Door County to celebrate our wedding, it could not have been a more beautiful weekend. The early July weather was pristine. After the ceremony, the lively bridal party had a blast touring the Peninsula State Park on a Door County Trolley before arriving at Gordon Lodge for the reception.
The outdoor cocktail hour was perfect complement to the mild summer day and gave the guests the opportunity to take in the beauty of Door County near the water. Inside Gordon's, flower arrangements gave a soft compliment to the rustic-themed reception. Brad and I celebrated late into the evening, dancing with our guests before everyone was safely shuttled back to their hotels.
The fun continued the next day, as guests took in all Door County had to offer while others relaxed spending the day on the water. The weekend wrapped up with many guests enjoying the Fourth of July Festival and Firework show in Fish Creek ending on the patio at Gibraltar Grill to share in one more celebratory night.
