When Molly Johnson and Katie Allbee stayed on campus one summer during college at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, their fast friendship eventually led to not one, but two, proposals. Molly proposed to Katie in the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot in Disney World after their first half-marathon race in 2019, and Katie proposed to Molly on one of her favorite hikes in Boulder, Colorado. After canceling their original plan for a March wedding in Florida, the couple opted for an intimate affair at Katie’s family home, incorporating the radiant fall colors into their palette for a laid-back September celebration. The wedding day was relaxed, and the couple took time to enjoy a bottle of champagne before the festivities. They incorporated several Jewish traditions into their ceremony, including signing the Ketubah, the Jewish marriage contract. Molly's father designed and constructed an arch as a centerpiece accented with florals. The couple also wrote their own vows with meaningful memories, bringing them together for a life of many more ahead. Despite the small celebration with only their officiant (a friend), Katie’s brother, parents, and their puppy, Barley Pop, they streamed the event so friends and family could virtually celebrate and even participate in a toast to the happy couple.
