Katrina Schuchardt was out with friends at the Blue Velvet Lounge in downtown Madison, and just as they were leaving, Komlan Assignon asked her for a dance. She tried to make excuses, but he insisted—and now he’s her forever dance partner. During dinner in the Eiffel Tower while visiting Paris, he surprised her with dried rose petals spelling the words “Will you marry me?” They left the tower just as it lit up with a sparkling light show. They held the wedding at the same church where the bride’s parents were married, and the couple’s siblings joined the wedding party, making it a family affair, with some of Komlan’s family in traditional African formalwear to represent their home country of Togo. Whistling Straits provided a breathtaking outdoor location featuring an Irish barn and a palette of ivory, vintage rose, blush, champagne, burgundy and violet, along with the surrounding greenery. That first dance on a night out rewarded the couple with one very special first dance at their wedding.
Katrina & Komlan's breathtaking wedding at Whistling Straits featured burgundy and beige hues.
