On an unseasonably warm fall day — “The sun was shining, and it couldn’t have been more perfect,” Katrina Ervin recalls — she and Colin Camp wed. The Tinsmith was the ideal locale for them: close to their home, dog-friendly so their two pups could attend and replete with a stunning solarium filled with plants. Their modern romantic theme inspired a palette of varying shades of purple and burgundy with pops of red for an added edgy touch. The bride wore a romantic A-line gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves, finishing her look with a bold bouquet of dark blooms. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of a single variety of a flower in the bridal bouquet and wore a gown in one of the hues of the day. Karina and Colin said their “I do’s” as Colin’s sister officiated. “Having someone we love so much perform the ceremony made our day all the more special,” Katrina says. Tables at the reception also had a personalized detail: wooden vases made by Colin’s brother. Another very special treat: Katrina owns an ice cream shop, so guests could choose between “his” and “hers” ice cream flavors, and in a nod to Katrina’s German roots, a favorite family cake called frankfurter kranz made with "hers" ice cream was also served.
