Wicker chandeliers were adorned with vines and dripping amaranthus while happy bursts of blooms sat upon the modern podiums that served as the altar.
A favorite moment of the bride, Tanner read his vows from a lengthy scroll, not rushing through but savoring the heartfelt memories and anecdotes. "Standing there listening to him, I felt so deeply loved," Katie reflects.
Humor being central to Katie and Tanner's relationship, they wanted to ensure their guests were laughing and completely engaged throughout the entire celebration. After witnessing the sentimental vow exchange, guests were welcomed into cocktail hour with a trivia game centered around the newlyweds with questions ranging from the typical couple questions to those involving guests or poking lighthearted fun at themselves. The pair also offered wedding day merch with an intentionally terrible design that read, "I went to Tanner and Katie’s wedding and all I got was this lousy T-shirt."
Amidst their elegantly styled reception bathed in natural light, they intentionally rooted the day in guest experience, offering a raffle with prizes like dinner on the bride and groom, botanical LEGO kits and a first date starter kit with gift cards to the locale of Katie and Tanner's first date. A nod to Tanner's profession, the groom crafted custom LEGO florals within the day's color palette to adorn their wedding cake - and the toppers, of course, were exact replicas of the happy couple.
