Get With the Program

Trends

1} Going Green

This couple loved natural elements but not florals, so Jessica Clark of Clark Creative created a design inspired by spring leaves. “This suite has a very natural, romantic feel with a modern twist,” says Clark. “The foliage is soft, while the bold black lines and font keep the design simple, classic and masculine.” Every element of this wedding suite was printed on 100 percent recycled paper, making it truly eco-chic.

2} Fan Favorite

“The bride and groom wanted their programs to double as fans for their outdoor wedding,” says Sydney McNeill of Sydney Appleton Weddings + Design. The mix of fonts echoes the design of the invitation, while kraft paper adds a homey feel. The curvy wooden handle is a clever, useful touch. “There is no better feeling than a couple saying, ‘It’s exactly what we had in mind!’ ” says McNeill.

3} The Last Rose of Summer

For an outdoor wedding with a palette including every shade of pink, Deb Hackbarth of Paperwhites knew just what direction to go. “We used bright florals, along with dreamy fonts to evoke a happy, romantic and summery feel.” The profusion of cheerful illustrated blooms coordinates perfectly with a mix of traditional text and a loose, calligraphy-inspired font.

4} Book Ends

For this couple, “their entire wedding day was intimate and cozy, just like a good book,” says Tara Scheuerman of Cracked Designs. “The programs were inspired by their relationship, and where their love had taken them over the years.” Scheuerman attached each library card by hand to create these charming programs, which tell the couple’s love story in tiny snippets. Hand-drawn fonts add to the simple, heartfelt feeling of the design.
