Snow and Ice Set the Perfect Scene for This Winter Engagement Session

Trends

Winter engagements sessions kind of come with the territory when you live in Wisconsin--after all, it's cold and snowy more months of the year here than it's not. But even if you're not a fan of the falling mercury (ahem...such as myself), there comes a certain serene beauty in the bare-branch trees, icicle-trimmed houses, snow-covered fields, and frozen-solid lakes that surround us. Laura Zastrow Photography demonstrates exactly what I mean in the engagement session she took for couple Lily and Daniel. Just look at the detail in the ice--it's like artwork made fresh by Mother Nature (and Jack Frost!). And the best part of winter engagement sessions? Cuddling is a must to stay warm, making for loving memories captured in the cold...

From the bride-to-be:

It was 28 degrees and there we were, laughing, snuggling, and sliding around on a frozen pond at Tenney Park for our engagement photo shoot with Laura Zastrow. We were engaged in late September, so it became clear we would need to embrace the winter season as the backdrop for our photos. Laura reassured us of the magic the ice and snow would bring to our session, and she was absolutely right. The natural beauty of the park and the dynamic connection between us came through beautifully and effortlessly. We fondly remember this day as a celebration with a chilly breeze, warm hugs, and lots of love.
