Q. My fiancé and I want a photo slideshow at our reception, but at the last few weddings I’ve attended, people don’t even watch them. They’re either socializing or look like they’re falling asleep. Is there a polite way to ask my guests to pay attention?

A. Ideally, your relationship will be everyone’s focus on your big day, but instead of demanding their attention, offer a show-stopping experience bound to turn heads: a slideshow in—drumroll, please—3-D!

“People expect to see slideshows at receptions,” says Philip Hinkle, owner of Frogman Productions, a Madison-based company that created the first 3-D slideshow in Wisconsin in 2011. “But when guests come into the reception and see 3-D glasses on their tables, it’s got a huge wow factor they aren’t used to.”

Seeing all of your guests sporting the goofy glasses, captivated by the dynamic pictures of you and your groom, will be an unforgettable moment for you too, Hinkle says. For a custom touch, add stickers with your names on them to the glasses; they’ll make for a fun favor.
