I learned so much while creating this issue. Did you know peplum is back? Neither did I. Yet here we are in 2026, and the once-ubiquitous early-2010s silhouette has returned, and dare I say, better than ever. Just take a look at our cover and page 64. My apologies to the millennials and Gen Zers who may have parted ways with their beloved tops.
But I digress. What stood out most was how couples are using the power of storytelling within their celebration. From custom toile linens (page 146) to a music-themed seating chart (page 52), these weddings invite guests into their love story. Turn each page and you’ll find no shortage of fresh ideas, from restaurant “I dos” (page 44) and dress codes (page 48) to monobloom bouquets (page 148) and stellar second looks (page 51).
And the innovation doesn’t stop there! The Best of 2026 Editor’s Choice Awards kick off on page 50. From a luxe real wedding at a grand manor, a picture-perfect moment, artistic bouquet and more, these are the extraordinary details that made me do a double take this year.
Our features delve into the allure of quiet luxury and refined elegance. The journey begins in downtown Milwaukee at The Society, where regal gowns featuring classic structures and timeless details take the spotlight. Beautifully photographed by Andrew Parsons, each look serves as an ode to opulence (page 60). Next up: the historic Maxwell Mansion. Here, Renee Breanne Design + Co. curated a setting that exuded the feeling of collected sophistication. The creative team ensured every element harmoniously worked together to channel a distinctly vintage Ralph Lauren aesthetic (page 72).
With trends constantly coming and going, I encourage you to look back in time and find what truly speaks to you—whether it’s a detail from your favorite ’90s film (page 38), a hat from your mother’s wedding day (page 40) or a ’70s-inspired mini dress (page 152).
No matter what you decide, with social media and outside opinions of what you “should” or “should not” do can become all-consuming. Every other reel may feel like you’re doing too much, or not enough, for your celebration. Amid all the chaos, remember what truly matters: making yourself and your partner happy. With that in mind, pour yourself a cocktail, or mocktail, light a candle, kick back and enjoy. I hope this issue is as fun for you to read, as it was for our team to put together! Cheers to you!
