She spends plenty of time behind the camera as a Wisconsin wedding photographer, but Jenna Kutcher of Photographs by Jenna Leigh never considered herself an artist. But in her downtime, she decided to give watercolor painting a try and found it entirely enjoyable, and even therapeutic. A little social media sharing of her work with friends and family led to people asking to buy the paintings, and before she knew it, Kutcher had a new artistic endeavor—and business.

Kutcher’s collection is lighthearted and imperfect, which she says is a reflection of herself. She wants her work to encourage people to savor the mundane and laugh more, which she achieves with hand-painted script reading “I like you and naps,” and “Let’s not try to figure this out all at once.” The prints make for ideal wedding décor or great newlywed gifts. Try “Mr.” and “Mrs.” throw pillows, “Let’s Cuddle” prints, or request something made to order.

Her laid-back vibe has been drawing a big following. Less than a year after starting her hobby, Kutcher is already collaborating with big brands and creating designs that are showing up all over the country. “What started as a diversion has led to a multi-faceted business venture for me; it’s crazy and exciting,” she says. “I can’t wait to enjoy the downtime from photography to create with my hands.” Jenna Kutcher Art Prints, society6.com/jennakutcher
