She spends plenty of time behind the camera as a Wisconsin wedding photographer, but Jenna Kutcher of Photographs by Jenna Leigh never considered herself an artist. But in her downtime, she decided to give watercolor painting a try and found it entirely enjoyable, and even therapeutic. A little social media sharing of her work with friends and family led to people asking to buy the paintings, and before she knew it, Kutcher had a new artistic endeavor—and business.
Kutcher’s collection is lighthearted and imperfect, which she says is a reflection of herself. She wants her work to encourage people to savor the mundane and laugh more, which she achieves with hand-painted script reading “I like you and naps,” and “Let’s not try to figure this out all at once.” The prints make for ideal wedding décor or great newlywed gifts.
