A Wedding Even Lady Whistledown Would Approve of

Look no further than Netflix's "Bridgerton" for inspiration to plan your nuptials with your true love match.

Dear reader, it’s no secret that “Bridgerton” has stolen the hearts of nearly everyone with a Netflix subscription. Though the focus of the show may be the plot twists and lovers’ quarrels, it is the inimitably romantic Regency aesthetic that anchors each character’s every move. With its empire waists, delicate florals and immaculate attention to detail, “Bridgerton” serves as perfect inspiration for the couple eyeing a bucolic, enchanting walk down the aisle. Plus One Planning used the historic The Waters in Oshkosh as the backdrop for its styled shoot that brought Daphne and the Duke of Hastings’ whirlwind romance into the 21st century.

House of Elliot provided the bride’s show-stopping lace-up boots. Lending an edgy yet vintage accent to the bride’s look, the knee-high lace footwear practically melted into her gown from Erika’s Bridal Couture. With its flutter sleeves and tapered silhouette, the bride’s number was effortlessly feminine. Savvy Belle makeup provided a natural day look while Ashley Artistry & Co. coiffed the bride’s hair into a half-up, half-down confection of soft curls. A jeweled headband from Vintage Adornments in the Bridgerton family’s signature soft blues topped off the look – and it happened to have been designed on one of the roads in London where “Bridgerton” was filmed.

Ivory & Elm Artistry’s gold and blue accents on the invitations and a note from Lady Whistledown herself beautifully tied together the theme. Place settings featuring notes of gold and florals looked as though they were taken from Queen Charlotte’s own collection, while throne-like deep indigo velvet chairs provide seating fit for royalty. The groom looked noble and dapper in a charcoal suit and plaid blue bowtie – providing a more casual complement to the bride’s elegant attire. It may be 2021, but there is no better way to celebrate a true love match than with a subtle homage to undeniably picturesque Regency-era London.
