Friendship was just the beginning for Taylor Genter and Alex Mignon when the two met at UW-Whitewater in 2012. After their college years as “just friends,” they decided to take it up a notch during their senior year, and a proposal followed nearly five years later. As golf enthusiasts and members of the country club, Lake Windsor was the ideal space for their “I do’s.” A bright palette of pink florals and light neutrals fit their garden-style vision to a T. “I wish I could have encapsulated the scent of those rooms,” Taylor says. “It was dreamy.” After their church ceremony, cocktail hour followed with hors d'oeuvres, drinks and time with loved ones who traveled from all over the country. With flowers everywhere, the Crystal Commons Ballroom was full of light, despite the rain outdoors. Their four-tiered cake, set amid a gorgeous floral grouping atop the grand piano, set the perfect tone for their luxe, botanically inspired event. In the middle of the dance, the couple got a very pleasant surprise—a sunset. They ran outside to snap a few shots, prompting Taylor to recall, “Those five minutes at sunset were some of our favorite moments of the night—pure joy!”
