Angela Wierzbicki and Ryan Capwell created a wedding day that will be remembered as a relaxed, festive gathering of family and friends, full of personal touches. It was even more of a family affair at the reception, when they marked Angie’s grandparents’ 65th wedding anniversary with a special cake, made by her mother. At their outdoor ceremony, the new couple mixed soil from each of their parents’ properties as part of a unity ritual, then planted a tree.

The couple, who met while working at a local grocery store, wanted to have a natural theme, so The Greenhouse at Bittersweet Flower Market made the perfect blooming background, as well as providing plants and flowers galore for the venue, including thistles and dahlias in autumn colors in the arrangements. Personal touches included centerpieces using her grandmother’s antique blue Mason jars filled with fairy lights, while family and friends made many of the signs and other décor.

The little ones had their own special table with snacks and treats, plus specially drawn cartoon pictures of the bride and groom to color. Pets weren’t forgotten, either. Signature drinks gave a nod to their pets: the Augie Grog (a rum punch) in honor of their dog, and the Crosby Cooler (a vodka spritzer) for their cat.

“The best part of our day is that it felt like no stress and just love and enjoyment from family and friends,” Angie says. “Ryan and I are pretty goofy, so we kept it light and just had fun together.”
