Emily Head and Ray Riordan’s kismet meeting was at a wedding at the Milwaukee Art Museum, where he was the DJ and she was the wedding planner. Ray noticed her right away, and after sneaking glances at him, Emily went up to introduce herself. As the evening went on, they found any excuse to talk to each other and finally exchanged numbers. Their first date was a few days later; “Instantly we knew this was something special,” Emily said. The couple found themselves back where it all began a year later, when Ray “spontaneously” suggested they stop in the museum before dinner. Emily was surprised to see an aisle of candles and flowers leading up to the very spot the two met, with their song, “In Case You Didn’t Know” by Brett Young playing in the background. The surprises didn’t end there: Ray had arranged an engagement party with their immediate family. Before their wedding ceremony, the two did a first look where Emily made her way down the aisle to Ray, “the perfect combination of the traditional ‘seeing the bride walk down the aisle’ and having that intimate moment just between the two of us,” Emily says. Guests celebrated the newlyweds’ love sipping their signature cocktail, named after their puppy, Hadley.
